Saints Louis and Zelie
Louis and Zelie both grew up in France. Louis was a watchmaker and Zelie owned a lace making business.
They were married in 1858 and had nine children, but only five of them survived past infancy.
They raised their daughters in a household of prayer, work, and play.
All of their girls became nuns and their youngest daughter was St. Therese of Lisieux. Zelie suffered a lot and died of cancer when her daughters were still very young. It was hard for Louis to be without his beloved wife, but he continued to raise their children strong in the faith.
Louis and Zelie are beautiful examples of how to live a holy life even in the midst of managing a business and raising a family.
They have a special love for children and we can ask for their prayers whenever we need help with our families.

Today’s Bible verse song tells us that Jesus came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. What does it mean to have an abundant life?
Possible answers: Jesus wants our hearts to be overflowing and bubbling over with love, joy and peace. We can have an abundant life when we have a close friendship with Jesus. That means putting Jesus at the very center of our lives.
How do we keep Jesus at the center of our life?
Become best friends with Jesus, spend time talking and listening to Jesus throughout the day , stay close to Jesus in good times and in hard times, include Him in everything we do, make time for Jesus, etc.
Why do you think Jesus wants you to celebrate life with Him?
Possible answers: Jesus loves you and wants to share awesome moments together with you. Jesus wants us to rejoice in the gift of life. He wants us to live in Heaven with Him one day and celebrate for all eternity, forever and ever!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, thank you for giving us life! May we always remember to discover, respect, protect, serve and celebrate life each day. Help us to keep you at the center of our hearts so we can become the better version of ourselves and experience life to the fullest. Amen.
