We challenge you to memorize this Bible Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 2:5

The Bible verse we just sang tells us how important it is to follow the rules. God is so smart! He knew we needed rules so we could get along together and have more peace in our life. God gave us the Ten Commandments to follow as instructions for the right way to live so our lives will be more peaceful. If we love God, we will obey Him by following the Ten Commandments.

St. Anne
Anne was married to a man named Joachim. They had a great love for one another and obeyed God’s commandments.
After 20 years of marriage, Anne and Joachim had no children of their own.
After a time of fasting, an angel appeared to both Anne and Joachim separately.
The angel had told them they would have a daughter who they were to name Mary.
After Mary was born, Anne and Joachim dedicated their child to God at the temple of Jerusalem where she spent a lot of her childhood.
The home where Anne and her husband raised Mary was surrounded by great love for God and for one another.
St. Anne taught Mary the Holy Scriptures and trained her in everyday skills such as cooking and cleaning.
Her daughter Mary had special favor with God, since she was to be the Mother of Jesus. St. Anne is also known as Jesus’ grandmother.
St. Anne, Pray for us.

Connection Questions:
Why is it important to read the Bible?
The Bible teaches us how to love God and others, you learn about God and how to live like Jesus, the Word of God fills us with life, it gives meaning and purpose to our lives, it helps us to become Champions for Christ, etc.
Why do you think we should obey the 10 Commandments?
We are God's people and should live according to God's ways. We can show honor and love to God by following his commandments. He gives us these commandments for our own good so we can live peacefully.

Closing Prayer:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, thank you for giving us the commandments so we can know how You want us to live our lives. Give us the strength to do what’s right and become who we’re called to be: Champions for Christ! Amen.
